We are finally down to our very last tall, glass cup of the TWELVE we received at our wedding. Since Grant and I have now been married for six months (okay okay it's really seven for those of you counting, but six works better for my purposes here), that means we have broken a glass about the rate of approximately one every two weeks. This is deplorable considering the fact that in the six (or seven) months that we've lived in our apartment, we've never once admitted anyone under the age of 17.
Conclusion drawn from the evidence presented:
durable plastic cups WILL be required in the near future.
Post-post thought: I would have included pictures for you, but we've broken the camera too. Man.

Wow, we still have several glasses from the first box we opened after our wedding and at least one more box we haven't opened. This, despite the three-year-old tornadoes that have come to grace our home.
Maybe you should throw something else when you argue...
Or you could only use your glasses for soft drinks.
:-P
I always said it was no use have really nice things until the kids were at least teens -- and even then it was questionable. We lived with used, plastic, beat up everything for 20 years at least. It was very liberating. I never had to worry about the kids (or Dale) ruining anything.....
Of course - I never broke anything.
Except a couple of cars.
Love,
Momzie
I think part of the whole breaking things might be genetic . . . of course, with me, it was malfunctioning electronics, and unexplainable fires. (Who else do you know who has had both a washing machine and a dishwasher catch on fire?)
We (luckily) got plastic cups for our wedding along with our glass cups. We only used the glass ones if company came over. I can't tell you how many times I dropped those plastic cups and thought, "Thank goodness it wasn't the glass one." Even with that, I think we broke half the set. Down with glass! :)
I gotta say-I'm addicted to glass cups. I hate drinking out of plastic, esp since reading the article about all the toxins that go into your system from years of drinking out of plastic...*shudder* but I have found some that are very difficult to break-I've dropped them like a million times (u know me ;) and they still survive! they are my favorite.
ROFL-I love Evan's comment hahah-drink only soft drinks...hahahahaha
